Feelin' Halloweeny

Saturday night, the hubs and I went to our friend K’s Halloween party. With the exception of a few people, no one knew my costume. Do you?

My other husband couldn’t make it but he was there in spirit.

My husband that could make it came dressed as a scary spider.

Someone must have had some bug spray.

I swear I left him alone for one minute.

Linda (our personal trainer) and her hubs came dressed as Bruce and Linda Lee.

Linda would like to remind us all that we will never have abs like her. Also, she’s the only woman I know who will go to a party dressed like this, eat 3 cupcakes in front of you, and then make you work out harder because she ate cupcakes.

Speaking of the cupcakes, they were adorable but easy for me to avoid because I don’t like chocolate frosting. *gasp!*

K did a really great job with all the decorations, but I didn’t get many pictures of them because it was so dark.

However, the cobwebs over the gym equipment was not lost on me.

Here are a few other pictures from the night.

We had a fun hanging out with friends. A couple drinks were definitely needed after I ran around town for hours looking for specific things for my costume that I never found. I was stressing out so much that hubs tried to help me by going out on his own search only to have his car break down. It was a stressful night so we were glad to finally relax.

Then last night, we kept with the Halloween spirit and went to see Paranormal Activity 3.

It was pretty good and better than the second one. Lots of stuff happened in the trailer that never happened in the movie. Even the Bloody Mary scene in the trailer with the two little girls was done by one of the little girls and a different actor in the movie. Either way, they tied all three movies together pretty well and there was lots of chills, so we liked it. Then everytime I woke up last night, I was sure I heard something in the house. < —- wimp

Did you celebrate Halloween this weekend?

Halloween Anxiety

I’m having Halloween anxiety. This happens every year right before Halloween. I have a minor breakdown because I don’t know how I want to dress up. I won’t dress up unless I get inspired somehow and I usually don’t do repeat costumes. So, the day before Halloween, I pull something together in an all-day-long rushed panic. Here are some of the fruits of my panic attacks:

Pregnant Britney Spears (2005)

Notice the microphone? That’s authenticity, my friends.

I got pulled into a work costume contest that I didn’t want to be in. Damn peer pressure. This was after Britney’s first kid but before she was pregnant with the second one. I must have had a sixth sense about her womb because I was also carrying around an infant baby doll because I thought it was funny. Everyone made comments that she only had one kid. Ha! Well, I showed them. Later on, when I asked someone to guess who I was, she said Jessica Simpson. *fail*

Marge Simpson (2006, maybe)

I’m at another work costume contest here, but this time I refused to enter. (I know no one believes me, but I’m shy.) I couldn’t find a necklace, so I had to buy those beads and make it myself. Then, I couldn’t find a green strapless dress anywhere. So the night before I had to dress up, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a couple yards of green fabric and tucked it into a black strapless dress I had at home. Party City has this costume now. That would have come in handy 5 years ago.

A completely original “Little Girl” (2007)

The only thing worse than this costume is people who dress up in their pajamas for Halloween. I had plans to go to a party and wasn’t going to dress up because I was uninspired. Then I changed my mind at the last minute and panicked. This was basically all stuff I already had in my closet paired with a trip to Claire’s for kid’s jewelry.

Alice (2008)

This one was more planned. I was Alice from American McGee’s Alice. Not only is that a video game, but it’s the first video game that I was into in the biggest nerd-like way. Hubs was the Mad Hatter. The naughty pirate is not from the game, by the way. 😉

Sookie Stackhouse (2010)

This was last year. I ordered the whole costume from HBO online thinking I was clever and 2 weeks later they were at every freakin’ Hot Topic. Let’s just say I was not the only Sookie at this party.

Avril Lavigne (2009, maybe)

Thank you Kohls, for your horrible Avril Lavinge clothes line. We were going for a rock band type of theme here. Hubs was Rob Zombie. This wasn’t Halloween though. Most likely just a quiet Tuesday night at home.

And last but not least, something to offend everyone…

White Trash (2006)

Hubs was my abusive, fight-picking boyfriend. To be fair, I really wanted to be Peggy Bundy but couldn’t find a red wig anywhere. So, this is what I ended up with.

This year, I’m doing a repeat outfit for work (that I didn’t post here, but will post later) and I’m still deciding on what to do for a Halloween party this weekend. T minus 3 days until I start freaking out about it!

What are you going to be for Halloween?

Check out a couple of my hub’s previous costumes, if you’d like. (He makes them himself!)

Break Out the Boos

I just got boo-ed at work today.

Does anyone else do this at their work? You get a cheap, cute little Halloween gift from an annoymous co-worker. Once you get a gift, you pay it forward and do the same thing annoymously for another co-worker that hasn’t already been boo-ed. Only thing is…this gift wasn’t cheap. And the boo-er seems to know me TOO well.

A boo-er that knows the way to my heart.

And he or she knows how to treat my little, fluffy girl right.

I’m pretty sure the hubs is in cahoots with this boo-er because he asked me to come to his desk to tell me some random ass story. I was like, “Really? This is why you asked me to walk over here?” When I came back to my desk…bam! I was boo-ed all over the place. Hubs won’t admit he knows anything but I know he’s in on it somehow.

Speaking of hubs and my fluffy one, I know this is a repeat picture, but it’s so dang cute I’m going to post it again.
