By the Numbers

1. I have an exciting little houseguest staying with me tomorrow night. That means, tonight is gonna be busy. Our guest bedroom has so much crap on the floor that I can’t get the Murphy bed down. So there will be cleaning to do. I also have a DIY bathroom project that I started last weekend that is taking a little longer than I’d like (I’ll tell ya about that one later). Plus, I just realized that I don’t have any blankets except the one on my bed. So I’m gonna need one of those unless I want to start getting creative with ideas on keeping Lindsey warm at night.

I know. That picture is amazing. You don’t have to say it.

2. I watched This is 40.

I can’t tell you how many blogs I’ve read that either said the movie was just OK or terrible. I need to stop listening to people because I loved it. It was hilarious and I just love, love Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann together. They can do no wrong.

3. I tried this over the weekend.

I hate pre-mixed drinks. They’re too syrupy and sweet and give the glory that is alcohol a bad name. But this was actually pretty good. It’s recommended to drink it on the rocks so don’t drink it out of the can like an animal – that drinks out of cans. Also not recommended – checking the calorie content online after you’ve had a bunch. Bud “Light” Lime my ass.

4. I feel like prescription bottles should be more descriptive.

Maybe adding “or else you will die” to the end of that might help. I mean, obviously I need to know WHY I can’t lie down for 10 minutes. And really, what does 10 minutes do? It’s not really in your system yet. And if you take it with plenty of water like it says, I’m assuming you won’t cough it up. It’s like the bottle is daring me to try it.

5. My love for Greek Yogurt Pancakes is still going strong. I’d have to say…too strong. I’m think I’m going to have to quit them.

I ran out of flour the other weekend and got a little frantic. I mean, not frantic enough to put on clothes and go to the store. But fairly frantic in that I would try anything to replicate them. I ended up making them with almond flour and then with coconut flour (both a bitch to flip). They tasted ok but it was just a mess to deal with. Then I tried whole wheat flour (don’t do that, it’s nasty) but it just didn’t taste the same without my white, bleached, healthy-living-blog hatin’ flour.

Unfortunately, they make me want carbs and sweets So now I need to train myself to eat egg whites again. Life is hard.

6. I saw this apple at the store today.

Honestly. I almost needed two hands to grab that thing. (TWSS)

7. It’s unseasonable cool today. We are actually having record lows. WTF? I think it was 54Ā°F when I left for lunch. I am totally loving it. So of course that means I get to break out the tights and boots one last for the first time.

Sassy, right?

8. I can’t leave you guys without including my bunny boo. While I was getting her food the other morning, she ran into my bedroom (which is not bunny-proof). Usually she’s too much of a wuss to walk on the laminate to get there so I don’t worry about it, but I knew something was up when she was being too quiet. It was great for me because I love picking her up. Bad for her because she hates it.

That is not a happy bunny. And yes, I wear a robe sometimes.

  1. I liked this post – couple of things: I love a lime a rita – get crazy and put it over ice (crushed or sonic) and salt the rim – it is amazing in the FL sun… I would worry more about the diarhhea than the lying down LOL! … I love those tights and I glad you rock them… I dont love bathrobes but you look comfy in yours… it makes me sad that your bunny is so mean but happy because she is so darn cute.

    • Ya, but the diarrhea warning is on a lot of them…so…usually that means take it with probiotics. I don’t like it on my meds, but weird things like don’t lie down would weird me out more! I noticed on a common OTC allergy medicine it says, “Do not take with juice.” WTF? I never saw that one before. Just makes me wonder what happens when I do take it with juice? Then, I thought, nothing b/c I have done that without knowing. šŸ˜‰ Oh, it’s OTC Allegra if you are wondering.

Oh I had it with crushed ice. It was amazing. Good idea on the salt!
For the record, the diarrhea thing didn’t happen. I even bought this nasty Kefir probiotic smoothie stuff in anticipation. I was kinda disappointed when it didn’t happen. šŸ™‚

  2. Seriously, I want to know why your meds say do not lie down for 10 minutes. I do not ever think I’ve seen that as a caution or warning!

And, as for the tights boots combo, I thought Sexy, before I saw your Sassy. Yes, to both. Good call. šŸ™‚

  3. OMG I totes wear a robe, too! #bffl

Did you find out why it’s 10 minutes? Inquiring minds want to know!!

  4. I feel like I should comment on the 10 minutes thing, just because everyone else has. So why, Paula, why? šŸ˜‰

Your bunny is ridiculously cute. I’d say I want a little Pants of my own, but my cats would demolish a bunny. Also, I love your tights and I love wearing robes. They make me feel like I’m [almost] at a hotel.

  5. Such a cute bunny you have!

I want to see This is 40 but hesitated for the exact reason you described but I think I’ll give it a go with your review now. šŸ™‚

That is some strange instructions to have on medication. What the what?

  6. Lucky Canadian getting to stay with you! šŸ™‚ Hopefully she doesn’t say eh too much, haha.

I watched This is 40 and didn’t think it was funny. There was funny parts sure, but I just got annoyed that they were whining about being broke, yet neither worked (well they didn’t show it) and went away on extravagant weekends. I know it’s a movie, but come on. End rant šŸ™‚

If you move to Canada you could wear tights and boots for at least another two months. Exciting enough to move here?

    • I say it ALL THE TIME! How else would I end my questions, eh?

    • Paula

Leighhhhhh, he was trying to sell his record and get his record label off the ground and she was raising the kids. He was always hosting events and promoting them! Also, they went away on the weekend before she knew about the money issues and he was trying to keep it from her. Sheesh. You need to watch this movie again with me so we can laugh and you can love it. šŸ™‚

  7. Okay so I guess I’m in the minority by not owning a bathrobe? Really? I just never guessed people used them. Do you wear them to keep warm? To move from the shower to the closet? I don’t understand the purpose, inform me. šŸ™‚

I want to see This is 40 but I was scared it would suck, I’ll take your advice and try it out.

    • Paula

For me, it’s to keep warm on the colder mornings. That thing gets no action from April – November. šŸ™‚

      • You need to do what I do — I have a summer robe and a winter robe. Then I can revel in all my robe gloriousness year-round. I love my winter robe on those nights when we’re trying not to turn the heat on. It’s like the OG Snuggie.

  8. Hahaha, I love the picture. It’s okay, I have Evan to keep me warm. He is basically a furnace (honestly let me know if you need us to bring a blanket, cause I can do that!) Can Pants sleep with us?!
I’m excited, and I will give you a call this evening.
Also, what is up with these record cool temps you are having? Not impressed! At least it’s sunny.

I seem to disagree with movie critics and most movie-goers when it comes to movies. I hate super popular “funny” movies and I’m always finding the ones every hates hilarious. Hmm…I think something is wrong with me?

  10. Good to know about This is 40. I wanted to see it and then everyone trashed it. I need to stop listening to people too…. I mean Im listening to you but…. šŸ™‚

  11. Ari

Love your tights, so pretty!! I may need to go check out that movie now. And that drink!!

  12. I have never seen the don’t lie down before, that’s strange…and 10 minutes..hmmm

  13. I love everything about this post. Especially lindseys basket o bunnies.
    and Pants’ ear of shame.
and I havent seen This Is 40 yet but i think i will love it (i love her and I love paul rudd) and i rarely listen to people’s take on stuff because everyone has a different style so you always have to check it out fo yo’self!

  14. Ali

I also really enjoyed This is 40. Everyone else can just shut up.
