The past week has been uneventful. So uneventful that the only thing I can recall is trying Chobani Pomegranite yogurt for the first time and hating it. I swear there are little weird crunchies in it that make you feel like you just chipped a filling when you bite down on them. I don’t know why the world is suddenly filled with pomegranite flavored things, but I wish they would go away because they suck.
Anyway, I had an amazing run on Tuesday. Amazing. My legs were so sore from Crossfit the day before, but I sucked it up and found the only available treadmill at the gym (the one with the broken TV next to the stinky guy without deodorant). And it was blissful (the run, not the stinky guy). My hamstring is back to normal and it was literally the best run I’ve had all year.
- Mile 1: 10:00
- Mile 2: 9:40
- Mile 3: 9:30
- Mile 4: 9:22
- Mile 5: 9:13/9:05
If we’re friends on Daily Mile, you’ve already seen that. If we’re not, we totally should be so my blog is just a bunch of redundant crap once I finally get to posting about my runs. 😉
Wednesday, I went to an unplanned spin class because the place I go to closed. Today was their last day. I’m so bummed about it because I loved it there. Now I’m on the hunt for a new place. Anyone in the Orlando area know of a place to take spin that doesn’t require a gym membership?
With my spin place closing and other workouts shifting around, I now have four unplanned workout days a week. That’s kinda weird for me. On one hand, it will be nice to free up some time and not be so scheduled but on the other hand, I pre-plan all my workouts so I don’t punk out on them. So most likely, two of those days will go to speed runs. Then I might look for a good yoga place, even though I hate yoga because I can’t relax in group settings and it’s so boring.
But I need to stretch more often (and by more often, I mean at all) because running has made my body so tight. And not in that, “Dayum! Her body is tight!” way.
I’ve taken yoga five times total and know three things: I hate hot yoga, power yoga, and I don’t know the names of poses. I want it more for stretching and not so much a crazy work out. At least, not yet. So for the yoga peeps out there, what do you recommend?
