14 Miles on the Treadmill

I woke up at 4am this morning for a 14 mile run with my group. Noticed it was raining and went right back to bed. I figure if it’s not a race I paid for, it’s not worth running in the rain. Also, I’m a big baby.

After I slept in like I was going for a world record, I moseyed my way to the gym by 3pm to run 14 miles on the treadmill.

I love the treadmill when it’s 7 miles or less, so I was pretty sure 14 was gonna suck enough that I was willing to buy entertainment in the form of Jake Gyllenhaal for $15.

The run was just ok. Source Code was also just ok. The premise was so unbelievable that it almost made the movie unenjoyable. I mean, I know it’s a movie, but at least make me believe what you’re doing is possible. So, I guess if you have 14 miles to do on the treadmill and you need to watch something to keep from poking your eyes out, Source Code is good for that.

Now I have important things to tend to before I go out for the night.

  1. You ran 14 miles on the treadmill?! Baller! You should get a medal for that. 5 is my max on the treadmill, and even that is painful.*

  2. At least you didn’t die! Which is why I will happen to me if I have to run on the treadmill tomorrow. Unless I can come over to your house and you can entertain me for 2.5 hours? Hee.

    This rain sucks.

  3. So funny, I almost did the same thing. I had 13 to run. As soon as I met my group it started pouring. I drove to the gym to run it but then changed my mind again and ended up running the 13 in the rain.. Crazy morning, glad it’s done 🙂 Good for you, you are tougher than me. The most I’ve done on the TM is 10 and that was enough.

  4. Nice job! I don’t blame you for choosing the treadmill. That’s what I did yesterday because it was too cold. I’m also a big baby. 🙂

  5. Excellent work on the run, and on the someecard. Hope your celebration tonight is fabulous!

  6. Wow. I did 4 miles on the treadmill today and the only thing that kept me from being bored was being convinced I was near death. So well done you.

  7. Wow, I won’t even use a treadmill, so 14 miles sounds like an interminable torture! Way to get it done!

  9. wow, way to go! I get way too bored on the treadmill and am happy if I make it 3 miles!

  10. I did 12 on the treadmill last weekend. It didn’t suck, but it wasn’t the best, either. So are you telling me you can buy a movie to watch on the treadmill at your gym? That’s kind of awesome. A rip off, but awesome.

  11. you are officially a machine. Dang, 14 miles on a treadmill? Awesome job.

  12. Oh. My. God. Most I’ve ever run indoors was 6, and wow, that felt like a marathon. Kudos to you!

  13. Call me crazy, but I’d rather run in the rain. Although I’m not quite sure what temps we’re talking, here…I wouldn’t run in an outdoor sauna or anything.

Did you actually BUY the movie or do you have some insanely expensive Red Box kiosks in the FL?

    • LOL. Yes. I bought it. Because I only have an iPod, not an iPhone, therefore no internet. And my Droid battery would never last a whole movie. Otherwise, I definitely would have rented. Desperate times, desperate measures.
