This morning, I had a 20-mile run with my group. My knees hurt, my butt hurt, my right big toenail hurt, and I had a side stich for 3 miles. But somehow it was still better than my last 20 miler.
I know. It is. But mentally I was all there and felt like I could finish. Last time I was sure I couldn’t make those last 2 miles.
I tried Body Glide on my feet (from a few of your suggestions) to see if it would help prevent the rash I’ve been getting. I’ll spare you more pictures of my feet, but it didn’t help at all. And the rash was much bigger and in new areas this time.
The rash doesn’t hurt and it usually goes away in a day or so, so I’m not going to worry about it anymore.
On Thursday, I had my speed run. I don’t even know what my run was supposed to be because I was too busy trying to get to the gym before the season premiere of Vampire Diaries started. I didn’t want to miss anything shirtless important.
I did half hills and half speed and just made this up as I went:
|Mile 1||10:00 warm up||.5|
|400 (1/4 mile)||10:00||3|
|800 (1/2 mile)||10:00 cool down||.5|
Total miles: 4.25 (The chart doesn’t add up to 4.25 miles, but I extended some of the 400s and ran some of the 200s between each set.)
I felt really good during this run even though my inner thighs and hamstrings were killing me from a personal trainer workout on Monday.
Next week, I’m running the Miracle Miles 15k. It will be my first 15k ever, so an instant PR. I haven’t raced in so long!
