If that post title didn’t instantly draw you in, I don’t know what will.
First, let’s start with yesterday’s lunch. I don’t normally post what I eat unless I’ve gone to a new restaurant or something is extra tasty. I pretty much eat the same thing everyday…and no one wants to see that.
Today was an extra tasty day. I was tired of all the normal places the hubs and I pick up lunch, so we decided to be different and eat out at Smokey Bones.
Smokey Bones is one of those restaurants that we like but we always forget about. So we don’t go for 6 months and then wonder why we haven’t been there in so long. We’re smart like that.
I’m a big fan of the atmosphere. I like the restaurant/bar hybrid look. It reminds me of how much I like alcohol and how I should drink it more often.
Plus, Smokey Bones has billboard-type quotes hanging from the ceiling that entertain you while you wait for food and TVs playing sports and 18-year-old Better Than Ezra videos. (Rosealia? Really? Was that even a hit?)
I ordered the Cool Turkey Cobb salad with the dressing on the side. It’s comes with bleu cheese and balsamic vinaigrette, for those of you who can’t decide which dressing you want. They give you them all.
This salad was ahh-maze-ing. Why don’t I go to Smokey Bones more often?
Oh yeah, that’s right.
I can’t wait to forget about Smokey Bones for another 6 months and then go again.
Last night, the marathon training called for a tempo run.
All the jokes can’t be winners, people.
I didn’t really feel like going to the gym, but of course I made myself go anyway. I’d be the biggest loser ever if I didn’t go after writing that motivation post yesterday. I made another attempt at getting that full-body picture by just extending my arm. This is what I got.
Eh. I’ll keep working on it.
Workout: 4.3 miles
- Mile 1: 10:00 pace
- Mile 2: 9:30 pace
- Mile 3: 9:15 pace
- Mile 4: Split 9:40/9:30 pace
I wanted to do 6 miles but I could barely make it through mile 3. My legs felt like lead, probably because of all my other workouts this week. I told myself, if I got through mile 3 without stopping, I could walk. So, I finished that mile, walked slowly for about 5 minutes, and then finished that last mile. I feel like that run was a total waste. Does it count as a tempo run if you take a walking break?
Afterwards, my left hamstring was sore and I felt like crap the rest of the night. Who ever heard of feeling like crap after a workout? That run sucked. Glad it’s over.
Please tell me someone got my Heathers reference? And if you haven’t seen Heathers and think it’s cinematic genius…you are dead to me.
