The Post That Almost Wasn't

I wasn’t going to blog today. I don’t have anything to say and I don’t like blogging just to get in some self-imposed required amount of posts. I do have some planned posts coming up but they’ll take longer to write than my lunch break, so they’ll have to wait.

But then something awesome happened.

Today at work, I was informed that I’ll be moving off my project and on to another for 3 months (or more) starting next Friday. I may move back to my current project after that time. But I may not.

I’ve been extremely unhappy at work for awhile now because I feel that I’m unchallenged and my skills are underused.

Watch your mouth.

I love my work place but I hate the project I’m on. The higher ups are aware of this but our project selection is limited. So, I’m left trying to appreciate that I have a job in the first place and that a lot of people would kill to have an unchallenging job if it meant they could pay the bills.

So, that’s my news. I’m so happy and I’m looking forward to enjoying my job again. Even if I’m back on the same project I’m currently on at the end of the 3 months, that will be 3 months I won’t be miserable 9 hours a day. And maybe by then, an even better project will come along.

What are you looking forward to? (Tomorrow we’re going to see Evil Dead: The Musical. Yes, that exists. Yes, I’m willing to pay for it. And yes, I will be seated in the “Splatter zone.”)

Are you tired of pictures of my bunny? (Say no.)

    I like your sassy bunny!

  3. Today is my last day on a job I absolutley loathe, too. It’s such a huge weight when you actually HATE what you do. It’s a big part of your life. I can relate. Glad you’re getting to do something else.

  4. I had no idea you could litter train a bunny! Now I want one.

I’m looking forward to getting out of town this weekend and going to Austin. I need a change of scenery!

  5. I love your bunny!!! I love all animals really, except chickens… totally freak me out. Glad to hear you get a new assignment at work. I’m having one of those days where I wish I could get a new assignment too…

I’ll never tire of bunny pictures, just so long as you never tire of yorkie pictures 🙂

Congratulations on your new project! It’s awesome when work doesn’t suck! My weekend plans include a job interview, so hopefully my job won’t suck soon, too!

  7. I almost died when I read this because your bunny’s so cute. Plus, I’m completely impressed that she’s litter trained. Who knew??

This may sound cheesy, but I’m looking forward to doing an interview with a LMHC for my blog! I’ve been trying to schedule it for a while, and once I actually contacted her she was excited about it and ready to go. That never happens to me! 🙂

I’m also looking forward to yoga tomorrow morning. The best way to start the day.

Love those pix of the Pants! Keep ’em coming! Who’d have thought she was just as much of a smart-ass as her mom! 🙂

  10. I’m glad to hear you will be moving onto something more enjoyable at work. And I LOVE all the Pants photos 🙂 Was she born with one ear?

  11. Awesome news on the work front – congratulations!!! Being bored at work is never good, & I totally feel you on the guilt factor for not wanting to dislike a job that pays the bills, even though it’s mind numbing. I have a similar feeling.

Looking forward to hanging out with the family at the beach today, despite the rain. It means it’s probably a perfect day to play Candyland, Uno, Connect Four, & Chutes & Ladders – game day! And let’s not kid ourselves – super excited for the fancy french toast I’m making Michael for Father’s Day breakfast tomorrow. 🙂

Nope – love the bunny pictures!

  12. Congrats with the exciting work news!!! I hope the new work will be fun!

And your bunny is ridiculously adorable.
