Can't Get You Outta My Head

Last night, hubs and I went to the Kylie Minogue concert – the last part of our busy weekend. The concert took place at Hard Rock Live which is inside the Universal Studios Citywalk area (about 30 minutes from where we live).

You know you’re from Orlando when you don’t care that the sun is photo bombing your Universal Studios spinning ball picture.

Hard Rock Live is attached to the Hard Rock Café. When we arrived, they had new metal detectors that you had to walk though. Before I walked through, the guy had me put my purse on the table outside of the metal detectors.

Makes sense.

Guns in your purse are ok. But on your person, no way. Not this place. Standards, people.

Kylie didn’t have an opening act, but there was a DJ spinning music for at least an hour prior to the show.

(If that song is in your head all day now, you are welcome.)

We had balcony seats, but we stood on the floor for most of the show because we like to be up close.

The concert had a Grecian theme, so the costumes were really fun. I also think the theme made it easy for Kylie to cater to her homosexual fans, which was probably half the audience. There were a lot of studly, barely clothed male dancers and the crowd went crazy for them.

A few more shots from the show. I’m pretty sure she changed her outfit more than an Oscar host.

I’ll admit, I only knew one song she played (post title, anyone?). The hubs is the Kylie fan and I just went along to keep him company. But the show was fun and I had a great time.

After the show, we came home and crashed. And now it’s time for the work week to start. I am seriously tired. I can’t keep up with these young husbands anymore. Smile

Any other Kylie fans out there?

Would you go to a concert of someone you didn’t know or weren’t a fan of to keep your significant other company? (The hubs and I do almost everything together which is why he’s seen Heart and Pat Benatar in concert more times than he can count and I’ve seen Metallica and Godsmack.)

I went to the concert because Louis wanted to go. He’s a Kylie diehard, I knew like… 5 songs? We totes had a phenomenal time down on the floor. He said it’s up there as one of the best shows he’s been to. We still have tickets to see Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Natasha Bedingfield and Britney Spears over the next 2ish months.

I don’t mind her really, I always think of her as the Locomotion chick though. And my sister was named after her!

An ex of mine went to Jessica Simpson (shhh don’t tell anyone I went to her concert) w/me yearsss ago, but now I think for the most part my bf & I listen to the same music so we don’t really have to compromise too much.

  3. My boyfriend and I have totally opposite tastes in music, so we have to suck it up a lot when we go to concerts. However, I generally like any music that is live, so I don’t complain. I just use it as ammo to make him go to the shows I want to see later on 😉

  4. The hubs & I have pretty similar taste in music, but if forced, I’d go to a concert he really wanted to see & vice versa. 🙂

I’m sorry to say I wouldn’t know any KM songs except Locomotion. I wouldn’t spend the money to see a band I don’t like, I’d rather my husband go with a friend who really wants to see it. We aren’t huge concert goers, though, so maybe I’m not qualified to answer. 🙂 He wouldn’t subject himself to a band he didn’t like regardless of cost.

  6. I think that sounds fun! Holy outfit changes!!!
I would go if my significant other was in to it. Probably because I would hope he would do the same for me!

  7. i’d definitely go to a concert to make someone happy. i probably have. sacrifices.

and i only know the post title too. don’t feel bad. the sad thing is that as soon as i read it the song was already in my head. so thanks xoxoxoxo

  8. Wow really great shots of her! I’m so jealous you went!!

  9. I love that your husband can appreciate Metallica, techno music, AND Kylie Minogue. What well rounded musical taste:)
I have the chance to see Cindi Lauper this weekend for free because of my job, but “sigh” concerts on Saturday and early morning Sunday races do not mix.
