(last night’s) Workout: Ran outside 4.25 miles (9:07 pace)
Well, my body just doesn’t like to stray from the 9:06/9:07 pace no matter what mileage I run. As long as I can keep that up for 13.1 miles without dying, I’m good.
Remember that 10-mile run I did this past weekend? Well, I tried something new during it. I only wore one pair of socks. I always wear two pairs. Mainly because they helped prevent blisters back when I wore the wrong shoes (and didn’t know the problem was the shoe).
Ever since my Mizunos and I saw each other across a crowded room, I haven’t had problems with blisters. So I thought to myself: Self, go crazy-train and try one pair of socks.
So I did. And this happened.
Yeah, it’s just a little bruising and I don’t think I’m going to lose the toenail, but this is how losing toenails starts.
My friend Tiffany tells me toenails are for sissies. Probably because she’s working with seven of them. Seven! (Yes she has 10 toes, if that was your next question.)
I like my toenails. All 10 of them. I’ve had them for a long time and I’ve grown kinda attached to them.
I mean, of course I know how to make my toe look better. Totally not noticeable now:
Should I paint the others? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent bruising in the future?
In other news, someone got a little prize in the mail today.
SUAR sticker, baybee!
That’s right. I’m a winner! At least according to Beth over at Shut Up and Run! I won an anagram contest. Apparently my name is an anagram for something dirty and I won first place for it. Sure, I’d rather win for awesomest beauty queen, but this will do. Check out this post of SUAR’s to see what my name spelled.
Has anyone else lost toenails or gotten bruising under your toenail before? Or are you still trying to hold in your breakfast after seeing pictures of my feet?
