Hi there! I'm Paula and I live in Orlando. I like to run and watch too much TV. I'm a lover of cupcakes and hater of chia seeds, even though I've never tried them. I eat peanut butter out of the jar and think Aaron Paul is my boyfriend.
Tag Archives: Things I’m Loving
1. My first at-home gel manicure.
I spotted the Sally Hansen Gel Polish kit at Target a few months ago and that puppy went right on my Christmas list (then directly emailed to hubs). I finally got a chance to try it out last weekend and so far, it’s just like a salon manicure – assuming you know how to paint your own nails. The kit only came with one really neutral color, so I’ll buy a few more bottles once I regain feeling in the left side of my body from knowing they are $12 each.
2. LaCroix Peach-Pear
I thought this stuff existed only in DC where Melissa could taunt me with it. I swear I’ve been looking for this flavor for almost a year. Last weekend, I finally found it…and proceeded to buy the last four boxes. It’s almost as good as the Seagram’s White Peach seltzer water and one of only three LaCroix flavors that doesn’t give me the gag reflex.
Oh, and I still haven’t had a Diet Coke this year even though I said I would. #PatsSelfOnBack
3. Crunchy Peanut Butter
I’ve hated crunchy peanut butter all my life. Would not touch the stuff. In general, I like peanuts but I hate peanuts *in* anything. (Yes, I know peanut butter is peanuts. This is not lost on me.) Then while I was in Austin, crunchy peanut butter was the only kind that Melissa (not LaCroix Melissa – new nickname!) had so I had to suck it up if I wanted to make it through the race. I was ready to hate on the crunchy PB but of course, I loved it. Now my addiction to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches is back in full force and I’m questioning the universe.
Also, notice that PB is natural. That should make those of you happy that have emailed me about your concern for my PB consumption.
4. L’Oreal 24 Hour Gel Eyeliner
I heard about this eyeliner over on this blog that I just started reading. You know that inside part of your eye that eyeliner never stays on? Well, this stuff will stay there even after you’ve scrubbed your face clean. I need eye makeup remover to get it off. It’s awesome. And it wasn’t even that expensive. (Maybe $8?)
5. Birthday Cake Oreos
Oreos. With Birthday Cake flavored cream. < —- Heaven
I never thought the original Oreo could be knocked out of the cookie top spot, but these are better than regular Oreos. You heard it here first. Of course, unless someone else has told you that then you probably didn’t hear it here first.
6. Eas Lean 15 Protein Powder
I saw an ad for this stuff in the sidebar of my email. I guess that advertising really works after all. It’s super chocolately and delicious and one of the few protein powders out there with less than 23g of protein. Plus it has a bunch of B vitamins. It’s perfect for after my Crossfit workouts since it’s only 100 calories – that way I’m not consuming all the calories I just burned with a really caloric shake. (Sorry, that sounds like a paid advertisement. It’s not. It’s really good and I’m getting the vanilla next.)
7. My new food processor.
Yeah, it’s small but it does the trick. I thought it was broken at first. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to turn it on. Not my best moment.
8. This billboard near my house.
I almost missed the green light because I couldn’t stop staring at the dudes on the left. I wanna meet the marketing person behind this one because it is mesmerizing. The thought bubble over the car says, “I have this effect on everyone.” YEAH you do, Fiat.
1. Garnier BB Cream.
I bought this stuff thinking it was one of those tint over time lotions like Jergen’s. I never wear foundation because it’s so heavy feeling, so I just do lotion with mineral powder on top. Well, this stuff looks like foundation but feels like lotion. I love it. Plus, it doesn’t take any extra time to put on so I can still spend my mornings changing my outfit over and over until I turn into a crying lump on the floor because nothing looks good.
2. Cold weather.
The weather has been ridiculously amazing the past two weeks. It actually feels like December is supposed to feel.
Today, Arizona is having its first winter storm which I guess just means rain and possible snow. People freak out about rain here. Like, it’s big news. The people at work were wondering if they could get in a full day of work because of it. (< — ??) There’s also a chance of snow, which would be ahh-maz-ing. I leave Saturday morning, so the snow needs to get its shit together and get here.
I wore tights 7 out of 10 work days here. The day I wore pants, a co-worker actually made a comment that I wasn’t in a skirt and tights. I gotta take advantage of them while I can. Those babies have been in my dresser for two years with no action.
4. Arizona views.
That was my view Saturday night at dinner after I registered for the race. It did not suck.
5. This raccoon.
If you just laughed at that as hard as I did, I will see you in hell.
Happy Friday everyone! First, I’ve been loving all your comments lately. You guys are hilarious about what annoys you at gyms. I especially love the comments that said I looked good in this picture. I’ve decided to have that one copied, framed, and hung in every room of my house. Maybe I’ll even mass-produce it into pillow cases and give them away as presents to my friends. I hope that’s not creepy.
(Seriously, thank you. You all are sweet.)
And second, I’m having a good day for no reason, so I decided to love on some random things. So here are the things I’m loving right now.
1. Someone already found my blog this morning by searching “watch running porn race” and “lady beard.”
2. My day of bad eating is behind me. And let’s face it, I’ve done way more damage in a day, so candy, cheeseburger sliders, fries with ranch dressing, and one donut isn’t that bad in comparison. At the end of the day, instead of feeling like crap, I kept thinking how awesome that donut tasted so I wasn’t too broken up about it.
3. These two songs on the way to work this morning:
Florence + the Machine “Heavy in Your Arms”
Yeah Yeah Yeahs “Down Boy”
4. Shorter days at work. (I work nine hour days to get every other Friday off. The Fridays I do work are 8 hour days, and that hour makes a huge difference.)
5. Good hair days. I cut off most of my head but I think blogger points should be assessed for using the self-timer.
6. I’ll be seeing Bobby Lee Saturday night at the Improv. Anyone remember him from MadTV? The dude is crazy funny.
7. I’ll be seeing this girl Saturday night for her birthday/going away party. She’s moving to South Carolina.
8. I’ll be seeing this girl in concert on Sunday night.
Don’t think I forgot your past, Kylie.
Does anyone remember when The Locomotion was popular? (If you don’t remember the song, know that you are young, beautiful, and probably born in the late 80s, unlike myself.)
Something tells me she won’t be doing that song…
Oh, and one thing I will not be doing this weekend.
I don’t even think Natalie Portman can save that movie.
