WTF Arizona

I forgot to mention the day before I flew out to Arizona I got my hairs cut. Say hello to my new bangs.

I can’t stay away from bangs for long. I just don’t know what to do with the hair around my face if I don’t have them. Everyone else without bangs looks so good. About once a year, I think I can pull it off so I grow out my bangs, but I just end up looking homeless. Plus, bangs are good for covering up eye wrinkles that heavy photo filters can’t.

So far, I’ve been keeping up with exercise every day thing while I’m out here. On Tuesday, I did a workout using my Crossfit Deck of Cards app. (It’s for Droid, not sure if it’s on iPhone.)

Best dollar I’ve ever spent that wasn’t on a cookie. This app saves me when I’m on travel.

I’m starting to notice the weirdness that is Arizona. I didn’t know that Arizona is just one of two states that doesn’t recognize Daylight Savings Time (Hawaii is the other). I thought all of Mountain Time Zone did that. But no. Arizona is special and even has a time zone named after it. So, I’m in Arizona Time Zone, also known as the time zone when all TV shows come on an hour late.

I guess it wouldn’t be so annoying except that all the commercials still say shows will be on at the regular time. I was up till 12:30am just so I could watch the Sons season finale on Tuesday. Did anyone see it? It had one of the single most disturbing scenes I’ve ever seen on TV. And if you watched it, you know what I’m talking about.

There’s a Dairy Queen down the street from the hotel that is “closed for the season.” Now I’m upset that Arizona thinks there is a season for ice cream. It’s not like this is Alaska. It was 80 degrees out yesterday. I can’t even think of anything funny to say, because having a season for ice cream is no laughing matter. So all I can do is leave you with a picture of a bunny eating ice cream.

I Didn’t Do It

In case you were wondering, I didn’t run the race yesterday.

Almost all of you said I should run it and I really tried to talk myself into it, but I just didn’t feel physically able to run.

When it comes down to it, my health is more important to me than running and I definitely do not regret skipping it. There are other races in the sea. (Like my next half this weekend.)

I am still super sick today. I went from a hacking cough/fatigue to a full blown head cold with sniffles, so I  can’t imagine how I’d feel if I actually ran 13 miles.

I am exactly like Cameron when I’m sick. I think it’s the end of the world, I make whiney noises, and I give people puppy dog eyes until they feel sorry for me and give me treats. I probably shouldn’t be at work today.

Just before I got super sick on Friday, I went to see Breaking Dawn 2.

For me, it’s tied with Eclipse as the best movie in the series. I wasn’t expecting much since I hated Breaking Dawn 1 and New Moon, so I’m glad at least it ended on a high point. Plus, they finally gave RPattz a normal haircut in this one, so once you get rid of all the pasty white that is Edward, he looked pretty good.

Also, if I wasn’t sick, I wouldn’t have been able to discover this show on TBS.

That airs at 10:00pm on Saturday night, also known as the time no one watches TV unless you’re on your death bed and can’t sleep. It stars Brian Austin Green. (This picture hurts my eyes.)

And Michael from Lost.

Weird cast but it actually wasn’t that bad. That could also be the sickness talking. Probably the sickness.

Being sick also allowed me to finish season 4 of Sons of Anarchy. Oh yeah. Don’t think I’m done talking about that show anytime soon. Season 4 is important for many reasons.

Jax cuts his hair and looks hotter.

Tara gets bangs, becomes slightly less annoying, and we find out that she does in fact own teeth.

Whoa, tame that smile girl.

I loved season 4. Now I’m gonna have to find season 5 somewhere because this girl does not wait for Netflix.

How to Waste 20 Hours without Trying

After a week long vacation visiting my family in California, I took another week off of work. Hubs took the week off too so it was nice to hang around the house together and do a lot of nothing. I could really use another week just to get to my maximum potential of lazy, but I guess I have to pay the bills somehow. Anyway, I was so unproductive during the week that I had big plans to have an amazing, productive weekend. That didn’t happen. You know what did happen?

My newest obsession.

A few of you suggested I watch Sons of Anarchy awhile back, so it’s been in my Netflix queue ever since. Hubs and I started watching season 1 on Friday night and we are already half way through season 2. That’s about 20 hour-long episodes in three days. Last night, it was getting to the point where I was uncomfortable because I was sitting so long. So long that I had to do stretches. Stretches because it hurt to do nothing.

We did end up taking a two hour break – to watch Dexter and Walking Dead. Is there a Television Anonymous that I can join? Anyway, we are both loving the show. And hubs was super excited to hear that because of the show, I have a new boyfriend. Meet Charlie Hunnam.

Charlie plays Jax and even though his clothes are four sizes too big and his hair is greasy and unwashed, I still love him. I will even forgive him for dating a doctor with no personality whatsoever. Do people like Tara’s character? I don’t get her appeal. I’m not even sure if she has teeth because the girl never smiles. /rant

Anyway, he cleans up well too.

Someone go tell this girl that I have a suggestion for her Magnificent Men of Monday posts and she needs to get on this ASAP.

I did do two things that actually involved leaving the house. Seeing Silent Hill Revelation was one of them.

Staying home maaaaay have been a better idea. It wasn’t good, but I think the makeup was really well done on the creatures and it was fun to watch decent actors say horribly written lines. So if you see it, make sure it involves alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol.

I also voted early for the first time.

Honestly, I always thought of early voting as the votes that don’t count. I didn’t really understand how it worked, but since I won’t have a chance tomorrow, hubs and I voted on Thursday. It was just like voting regularly which I didn’t expect. I’m not sure why I always thought of voting early as a bad thing but I’m definitely going to do it from now on. It’s so nice to be able to go when it’s convenient for you. Are all states able to vote early?

And that’s about it for my second week of vacation. I wish I could tell you I did something more interesting, but I didn’t. I left the house twice and I made a bigger ass crater in the couch.
