Celebs

I love anything celebrity related, so I thought it would be fun to post the celebrities I’ve met over the years. Or at least the ones I was able to get a picture with. They are in no particular order as you will be able to tell from my hair color and weight fluctuations. No wonder I started running longer distances…

Kristen Bell
(Veronica Mars, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, When in Rome, Burlesque, House of Lies)

I love EVERYTHING about her. I had hit the tanning salon this day (I don’t do that anymore), coupled with the fact that I actually got a hot flash JUST before meeting her because I was so nervous.

Michael Biehn
(Terminator, The Abyss, Tombstone, The Rock…I could go on, but you will be like, whaaaa?)

I have had a crush on this dude since I was like, 10 years old. So, yeah…I got a professional picture taken with him. All I remember from this is him asking me how I was and all I could say was, “you make me nervous.”

Chevelle
(Rock band)

I got to meet them before the concert which was really cool. Or was it after the concert? I’m not sure…but this was before the brother in the middle left the band.

Julie Benz
(Jawbreaker, Dexter, Darla on Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

She was really nice. She was still married to Jon Kassir (the voice of the Cryptkeeper) at this time and he was at the table next to her. I was at one of my heaviest weights here and standing next to her did not help my cause.

Claire Kramer
(Glory on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Bring It On)

She was very sweet and cute. This was at MegaCon and no one was at her table so she was just chatting with a friend.

Jamie Bamber
(Apollo on Battlestar Galactica)

Very nice. British accent. Taller than I expected. Yum.

Nicolas Brenden
(Xander on Buffy the Vampire Slayer,  he also played a rapist on Private Practice. Say it ain’t so Xander.)

Nice guy and he looked older than I expected. He was also much bigger than I expected too. He has an identical twin brother. Your imagination can do the rest of the work.

Ellen Muth

(Georgia on Dead Like Me – one of the best shows ever made in my opinion. So worth the DVD rental if you haven’t seen it. It’s only two seasons, but it’s so good.)

I didn’t really know what to say to her, so I asked her about the Dead Like Me movie that I knew was coming out. She told me it would be on DVD soon and I told her it was nice to meet her.

Tricia Helfer
(#6 on Battlestar Galactica, Burn Notice, Dark Blue)

She had the biggest, blingiest ring on that I’ve ever seen and her ring finger had like, 5 rings on it. She did not notice that my tank top that said “Number 6 is in my head.” I guess she gets fangirls all the time. Psh! Also, this was about a month before I got married when I was at my thinnest.

James Callus
(Baltar on Battlestar Galactica)

Probably the funniest, most personable celebrity I’ve ever met. Oh…and HE complimented me on my shirt. Because he’s basically awesome.

Lucianna Carro
(Kat on Battlestar Galactica. She was also on Caprica.)

I have a friend that LOVES her. I got this picture to taunt him.

Jen Halley
(Seelix on Battlestar Galactica)

A chic that’s taller than me? RIGHT ON! She can be my best friend now.

Doug Rob
(Lead singer of Hoobastank)

This was a free show at UCF and Doug was just sitting outside his tour bus talking to the other band members. It’s like no one had any clue who they were. So of course we took advantage of that situation. I was way too nervous to ask for a picture. Thank goodness for the Hubs cuz he has no fear approaching celebrities. Also, I was rockin’ some marshmallow arms here. And a shirt that doesn’t fit.

Joey Fatone
(N’Sync)

Hubs and I ran into him at a club downtown. I joked that Joey Fatone was right near us and hubs didn’t believe me until I made him look. This is probably the nicest guy ever. Hubs asked him if he’d take a pic with me and then all these girls started swarming around him and put some distance between us. He actually grabbed me and brought me over to him so I could get a picture. I thought he forgot about me, but he was super cool about it.

Orlando Jones
(MadTV and a ton of TV shows and movies but he’s known best for being the 7-Up guy — “make 7Up yours!”)

This was after his show at The Improv. He stayed after the show and met, shook hands with, and took pictures with everyone in the audience. His show wasn’t my favorite but he is definitely one of the most down-to-earth celebrities I’ve met and he’s super thankful for his fans.

Bobby Lee
(MadTV, The Dictator)

This was after his show at The Improv. He happened to be out at the bar before his next show started and we happened to spot him. He’s probably one of the funniest comedians I’ve ever seen live and if you haven’t seen his stuff on MadTV, you have to look it up because the guy is a riot.

Are you serious?! How do you get to meet these people!?

    • My husband is a huge comic geek, so he loves going to this convention every year in Orlando called MegaCon. It’s like ComicCon, but not as big. I go for the celebrities. I get all nervous and giggly and red-faced around celebrities but I LOVE them!

Hmm. Off the top of my head, I met Matthew Fox (he lived next door to my brother – swoon), Mary McDonnell (she was on BSG), Trent Reznor, and Chemical Brothers.
