My Newest Addiction

On Sunday, I went out for my first run of the new year at Lake Underhill Park.

I forgot to charge my Garmin, so I think I ran 10 miles around a 10:30 pace. Or if you ask my RunKeeper app, the speed work I’ve only been thinking of starting has really been paying off.

The run was decent until the last couple miles when my right foot started hurting again. I should have layed off the long runs for more than a week because now I’m limping again. Anyway, I’m terrible at taking scenery pictures, but I got a couple of winners during my run.

I also signed up for a local race in March, my first 10k (plus 2).

In other news, I’m taking this week off of work. I’ve been regretting not taking time off during the holidays, so I guess after the holidays will have to do. I’ve been using my time wisely by nursing my new addiction that  started a couple days ago thanks to my best friend.

Between Christmas gifts and a trip to the store today, that’s not even all of them. I realize no one needs that many new shoes. But it’s like once you start, you can’t stop. Shoes are like the Pringles of the fashion world. Now this video has been in my head all day. (That’s not safe for work…or people who have actual senses of humor.)

I also just finished Season 6 of Weeds. The whole season 7 was on Showtime on-demand last week and now only the first 4 episodes are there. So annoying. Does anyone else watch Weeds? Why is Silas not in every movie and TV show?

He is so pretty. And legal. Not that I checked or anything. We should go back in time and cast him in The Hunger Games. Someone make that happen.

Ok, time for me to go back to zero productivity for the day. I’m sure I’ll regret that sooner than later.

  1. Wow, you are getting speedy! Ha ha!

I did the WPRR last year and liked it. The route is pretty much the 10 mile loop and I found it funny to hear all the people complaining about the bricks.

  2. YES! Hungers Games! He so would have been perfect! *sigh*
    oh well:-(

Love those black, rounded toe pumps. I could use me a pair of those babies!

    • Those were so cheap – $10 at Burlingtion Coat Factory. (But they are actually a brown-ish color. Camera didn’t capture that too well.)

I’ve been spending an inordinate amount of money on new clothes and shoes lately :-/ And I love those peep toe snakeskin? alligator? whatever shoes, where are they from? I need some in my life.

    • Those are White House/Black Market – a Christmas gift from my best friend. I need to find something to wear them with STAT.

I love Weeds. Andy is my favorite though. Why doesn’t she stick with Andy?! (I haven’t seen past season 5, so that last statement could be completely invalid by now)

  5. You did capture a couple of great scenery pics! 🙂 I’m only limiting my clothing and shoes to ones I actually need….until I get to working out and losing this sitting here at the desk all day for the past year or two weight….then expect a spending spree! 🙂

  6. 351.44 miles. Well done. Too funny!

Shoes are a perfectly acceptable addiction. I’m jealous of your week off–I hope you enjoy it! Your run looks like it was nice. I haven’t run over there before!

  8. The scenery pictures are gorgeous! It makes my suburban neighborhood running look super lame.*

  9. I fully support your new addiction and your choice to take this week off. Both excellent decisions.

That’s great! I’m ditching my Garmin for RunKeeper…I always knew my Garmin was a big fat liar.

Wow, those pics are with your phone? Gorgeous!

I was hoping they would cast him at Peeta — although Josh Hutcherson does look like a good fit (from the trailer). He’s only 19 though. Seems so wrong to say he’s “cute.”

Man – you are 1/3 of the way to 1000 miles this year already. WTG!

  12. That sunset picture is amazing.

  13. Oh my! What a speedy run!! 🙂 OMG. Shoes. LOVE that video 😀

  14. I LOOOOOVE Silas! and it makes me feel like a creep because he is so young in the show and im almost 26… hehe

  15. Ugh stupid Hunger Games. The third book blows. I hate that it’s basically Twilight all over again with how every blogger is gushing about it. Kill me, please.

    But that guy is hot.

  16. That happened to me before with Run Keeper, such a strange glitch.

If you like the 10K distance, they do one for Founders Day in Celebration. I love it because it’s one of the few races that is actually on my side of town.

  17. Michelle

I love him! When I was reading the second Hunger Games book i thought he should be Finnick! So there’s still time!

  18. I swear I’m the only girl in the world that just doesn’t give one hoot about shoes. I think my genes knew that I was going to never be able to afford “good” ones. My husband watches Weeds, maybe I need to check it out if there are hot guys in it, 😉

  19. I have a shoe problem. It’s because I’m overweight and shoe shopping is 800 times more enjoyable than clothes shopping. Even fat kids can get cute shoes.

  20. Omg he would make a WAY better Peta than ol no neck they decided to cast. Ugh. LOVE the shoes. Especially the bottom left ones. Adorbs!

  21. He is so pretty. So, so, so pretty. But part of me feels very bad because I remember him in season 1 of Weeds when he looked like a baby. But mee-yow!!!

  22. I love runnning lake underhill, such a pretty run!

  23. Andrea @ Andrea out loud!

I LOOOOVE love love weeds! My favorite show. And silas is delicious. He was on Chelsea Lately recently and I thought she was going to molest him haha!
