The Super Fantastic Wonderful Awesome Run

I’m either getting faster or I just felt really good Tuesday night, because my run was super fantastic wonderful awesome. Quite honestly, it made me want to frolic in a field with a horse.

I wanted to run longer, but I needed to get home to do some pre-cruise stuff. Like give Royal Caribbean all my money and rock back and forth while crying in a cold shower.

This was my run:

Total miles: 4.55 (running), approx .50 miles walking

Mile Pace Incline
400   Walking warm up .5
800  (1/2 mile) 9:13 .5
600 8:57 .5
400  (1/4 mile) 8:57 .5
Repeat x3

I took a walking break after the second set for some water.

I’m wondering if I’m getting faster or if I just happened to feel better than usual. I guess I’ll find out next week because I’m going to increase my pace a bit and see how it goes. Also, I’m not even sure that faster treadmill paces translate to outside running, but I guess I’ll find out.

This morning I was supposed to get up and do a tempo run. That didn’t happen after I stayed up till midnight watching more episodes of Game of Thrones. (You all are right, it’s getting better!) It bothers me a little bit that my girl Lena Headley is blonde AND a bitch. Say it ain’t so, Lena.

So, I’ll be doing my tempo run tonight. Then I’ll be running to the store to pick up a few items, pack my bags, and get my butt in bed for a 4:30 wake-up call so I can do my long run in the morning. I shifted it to tomorrow morning since I won’t be able to run with my group on Saturday. And I’ll be all by myself. 🙁

Speaking of TV, hubs sent me this today and it had me dying.

It’s back September 15! If you don’t watch it, you must. It’s hilarious.  And please tell me someone else but me is still focused on those cat booties.

What are you watching right now? (Mostly True Blood and Entourage for me until the fall shows start up again.)

P.S. I should have a post tomorrow if I have time to finish it. If not, I will be back on Monday hopefully with some fun cruise pictures. 🙂

  1. We have been watching Dexter re-runs…America’s Got Talent…and we are SOOO sad that So You Think You can Dance is over! Have a great safe trip!

  2. I mostly watching Ghost Hunters, Criminal Minds, and True Blood. Oh, and Young and the Restless. Love me some soap men!

  3. Jessica @ Sushi and Sit-Ups

Is your cat making TOO MUCH NOISE?? KITTEN MITTENS! Oh dear, I’m cracking myself up right now. Great job on your run! Have fun on your cruise!!

  4. Yay for an awesome run!

True Blood, Criminal Minds, and Entourage are my shows. And the Real Househoes of Everywhere, I’m addicted to Bravo tv!

    Have a great trip!

  5. The wifey and I just finished the first season of Rookie Blue. I didn’t initially watch because along with most new reality shows, I am getting tired/bored of all the new cop and doctor shows that keep coming out. However, this one is good plus two of the ladies are wooweee goooood looookin’! 🙂 The wifey also has the hots for two of the guys on there (she’s as bad a guy 🙂 ).

  6. Lisa

We just got into AMC’s, The Killing. It’s pretty good, something to pass the time at least until the Fall shows start back up! Love Sunny in Philidelphi too.. hilarious!

Glad you had a great run!

I need to get into True Blood. I have heard good things about it. Lots of hot men apparently. I have heard a lot of people talking about Game of Thrones, and I honestly have no idea what it’s even about. May have to give it a try until Supernatural comes back! Great job on your speedwork!

  8. Alecia

I just finished Mad Men and now I’m in Rescue Me. I love It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia!

    • Is there like 80 seasons of Rescue Me? That’s a lot of catching up to do! I’ve never seen it, but I do love Denis Leary. 🙂

  9. Love, love, love Always Sunny and Game of Thrones.

Just rewatched BBC’s Sherlock. It’s only three episodes but three more are coming out soon and it’s awesome! Everything else has been mentioned (or is so geeky that I don’t really want to admit to it on someone else’s blog).

If you like GoT and Arrested Development (warning: I will be utterly disappointed in you if you don’t like AD), you have to check out http://www.arrestedwesteros.com (although wait until you’re done GoT so you don’t accidentally catch any spoilers). I’m in no way connected to that website, but I feel like she should probably pay me given how much I talk about it.

    • Haha, well I’m glad to say I will not disappoint you. I love AR! That’s one of my favorite things to rewatch on the treadmill.

  10. That is totally not a dramatization. I’m pretty sure you had that same scene with the bunny when you got home. For real.

I’ve barely watched any TV lately, but I’m looking forward to new fall shows. I don’t know which shows, but I guess I’m looking forward to the fall when I’ll actually have time to watch shows.

  11. Ha, I hadn’t seen that promo, but I love Always Sunny! Truthfully, I watch total garbage tv. I am obsessed with Degrassi still and I watch pretty much all the dramas on ABC Family at this point. Summer tv is rough!

  12. I’ve never watched Game of Thrones. (I thought it was a book; is it both?) I’m obsessed with Pretty Little Liars, Project Runway, and Real Housewives right now.*

Have a wonderful trip! So glad to hear that your running is going so well. There’s nothing more inspiring than leaving the road feeling ready to head out again.

As for TV on our DVR – Survivor, Married with Children, Conan, and Modern Family. Some times that I watch on my own are Project Runway and Ask Genevieve.

  14. I am hopelessly addicted to Big Brother right now.

I love having runs like that. I had a great progressive run this morning that boosted my confidence.

  15. Jane @ Broccolini + Cheese

I have been watching Mad Men on Netflix. So good.

  16. Where are you cruising? We’ve been looking at some for December!

  17. I nearly died at the Always Sunny picture. We don’t have cable (yeah, I know, we were sort of hippies), so I only get to catch up on AS when it comes out on DVD. I heard something about a Fat Mac this season? Swoon.

Now that SYTYCD is over (sad), I’m waiting for the return of Parenthood, The Office (if it’s even worth it now that Steve Carrell’s gone?), and 30 Rock. Oh, and Mad Men. I might just have to get cable so I can watch Don Draper in real time. (Swoon again.)

Have a sinfully amazing weekend on your cruise!!

  18. OMG. How timely that I watched the epi of Game of Thrones where Queen Bitch has the poor little doggie killed. It wasn’t Lady!!! Argh. Hubs had some choice words for Joffrey. I told him, “You’ll like him even less later….”
