The Sarcastic Social Button

I had another crappy run this morning. I’m not even sure what I was trying to do. A tempo run, I guess?

Mile Pace Incline
1 10:00 .5
2 9:40 .5
3 9:30 .5
Walked almost ½ mile   .5
4 9:23 .5
5 9:15/10:00 split .5

Total miles: 5 (running), .5 (walking)

I loathe morning runs. I have no energy and every step is a chore. The only thing that made this run bearable was a rerun of Angel on TNT. And that’s all I have to say about that.

******

I write down what I eat everyday. It helps me stay on track. If I don’t write down what I eat, I snack way too much and pretend the calories don’t exist because I can’t see the number. I use the Tap and Track app for my iPod Touch and love it. The best part about the app, besides having a gigantic database of food that you can browse OFFline, is that it is updated all the time. The app is always improving and updates come from user reviews, so the app really does get better each time instead of getting useless updates.

Until now.

Today, I noticed a new update I haven’t seen before: the Social button.

(Yes, I ate 408 calories by 10:30 am today. Thanks for noticing. FOCUS people.)

The social button is completely new. So of course I wanted to check it out. After I did, I wasn’t sure whether I should cry…or be excited!

WTF? Way to give me a complex Tap and Track.

  1. hahaha, yikes!! If it makes you feel better, I typically eat 700-800 calories before lunch and during marathon training its a struggle to keep my calories under 2000-2200 before I LEAVE WORK. *Sigh*

  2. Dang! Someone needs to call Stephanie Tanner to tell that app, “How Rude!”

  3. Watching Angel while you workout = good choice. TNT knows drama!*

Haha! Don’t feel bad girl– my breakfasts range anywhere from 300-600 calories every day! I looooooooooove eating in the mornings

  5. Wait a minute, did that post that stuff to your FB?! I saw the FB app and that scares me. I’d be mortified if the entire FB world knew about my inability to lose weight.

However, I’m still downloading the app to check it out…

  6. Oh and when I made the comment about being mortified about “my inability to lose weight” I literally meant me. Not you. B/c you’re running and probably gaining tons of muscle while I’m sitting in my lazy bum every night eating chips. Just tell that app that it’s not taking into account your awesome workouts 😉

Oh my gosh!! How silly is that.? They should at least warn you before they post it for you!

    Technology can be so rude.

  9. First of all, I love the beginning of this post. Pretty much describes every run I’ve had for the past 6 weeks.

Second, what sadistic bastard came up with that button? And who wants to post that on FB? Seriously.

  10. Why would anyone want to share how many calories they’ve consume on FB? That is so odd!! LOL! This app sounds cool otherwise!

  11. I eat a huge breakfast. Usually a good 500-600 calories. I eat a banana before I run and workout and then a big breakfast when I get home. I don’t feel that bad considering I burn at least that much when I work out.

  12. Haha this made me laugh! I always tell myself to track everything I eat – but I’m afraid to find out that I eat about 3000 calories a day!

  13. Omg I’m dying. How rude is that?! And hilarious! I use my fitness pal for food tracking. I like it but it guilt trips you when you dont log in! bitch ass technology

  14. Hahaha this made me laugh! Girl, I eat like 8 bajillion calories before noon. You’re doing fine 🙂

  15. Stefanie

No worries. I probably had about the same amount before 10:30 as well. The app could have at least left off the exclamation point on the end. I mean, seriously. Those words are enough, but to add excitement on the end of it is totally rude.

  16. damn you technology. get off our backs!!! 😉

  17. OMG I am sitting here cracking up right now!! That is the most awful idea they could have ever had for that app! Traumatizing! Hahaha thanks for the laugh!
