After my 16 miler on Saturday, the hubs and I drove out to Cocoa Beach to meet up with all the peeps for our Taekwondo school’s yearly Beach Day. The school is where we take our martial arts fitness class every week and where hubs earned his black belt.
Cocoa Beach is about a hour from Orlando and a really peaceful drive. Here’s a couple shots from the road.
The clouds were hanging low (TWSS) and looked really pretty over the water.
Once we got to Cocoa Beach, we checked into the hotel. I noticed this flag in the lobby and thought Cely might want one for her new apartment.
We dropped our stuff off at the room and met everyone out at the beach. Everyone was late last year, so we took our sweet time getting ready to leave. Of course, everyone was on time this year. Not cool. We like to be fashionably late not extremely late. We have reps to maintain here.
It was seriously hot out but it turned out to be a perfect day for the beach.
Fact: If you stand around and look pathetic enough, people will offer you their beer. (Thanks Ursula!)
I think she wanted to win friend points once she saw how cool it was that I model my bangs after Jim Carrey.
Hubs walked around looking like a GQ cover for awhile.
And some illegal grilling may or may not have happened.
After our bellies were full and we were done being lazy all day at the beach, we went to the hotel pool to be lazy some more.
All that lazy really worked up an appetite, so we all went out to dinner at Coconuts on the Beach.
Don’t look too excited there, Jason.
(By the way, all those people are seriously amazing. It’s like the big, crazy family you’ve always wanted but never had. They all either do the martial arts fitness class, Taekwondo, or Kung Fu. Some do all of it. They could all kick my butt.)
I’ve never been to Coconuts but I was really impressed with their food. I had the bleu cheese burger and hubs had some awesome crab cake. I was so impressed that I hoovered the burger in and forgot to take pictures. 🙁
After dinner, hubs told me he would love nothing more than for me to take another picture of us so we can document our love and life together.
Done and done.
Once we got back to the hotel, a few of us hung out and played the Circle of Death card game for a LONG time at an outside eating area of the hotel. I continued to look pathetic until other people gave me their beer. (Thanks Jason!) And what do we have to show for it? A hotel sign that ended up in one of our rooms “mysteriously.”
Thanks for the photo bomb, Clark.
Have you ever played (or heard of) Circle of Death? (I never heard of it until this weekend and it is seriously addicting!)
