TV Tuesday

(last night’s) Workout:  Chest, shoulders, and triceps with the personal trainer.

then… Marathon Training:  3 sets of 800, 600, 400 on treadmill. (400 meter jogs in between sets at a 10:00 pace).

That training run was supposed to happen this morning, but I really didn’t want to wake up early. So, I doubled up my workouts and did it last night.

I think my jogs between sets were supposed to be half as long, so I extended a few of the 600’s and 400’s. I may have to up the pace next time because I wasn’t wiped out at the end. Am I supposed to be? I’ve never done a workout like this before and had to email my marathon training group to find out the paces for each distance.

Can I just tell you how much I love treadmills? I get air conditioning and no humidity, I don’t have to monitor my pace every 5 seconds, bugs don’t dive-bomb my face, and I get to watch TV. I don’t understand all the treadmill haters out there. It’s so easy.

Now on to my favorite past time. I haven’t done a TV Tuesday in awhile, so today I bring you:

If you aren’t watching this show, you should be. It’s ridiculous and funny and stupid. The show is a half hour comedy about 3 roommates who also work together. It’s like The Office but with an It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia sense of humor. The humor is shocking at times, which I guess explains why it’s on at 10pm on Comedy Central.

If you don’t have cable, you should watch it illegally or through your neighbor’s window at night. If you don’t like potty humor, you may want to steer clear. But then again, if you don’t like potty humor, you’re probably not reading my blog.

Congrats Carolina and Michelle! Send me an email at eatwatchrun@gmail.com and I’ll get you hooked up. 🙂

What new show have you been loving lately? Besides Workaholics, I’ve been loving Bob’s Burgers (a new Sunday night Fox cartoon) and Tosh.O. (not new…but new to me).

I’m not a treadmill fan…mostly because I don’t have rhythm, so running at the machine’s pace is hard to do, no matter what it is. However, I can walk on it all day.

One new (to me) show I’ve been watching a little bit of is Criminal Minds–great show! I usually wait for shows on Netflix so I can gorge on whole seasons at a time (I’m not patient enough to watch most shows once a week!).

  3. I love the treadmill, too. No muss, no fuss!

I can’t say that I’m loving it, but I did sort of enjoy the total trainwreck that is My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding on TLC. I don’t even know where to begin with the commentary, but I’m sure if you watched, you’d have plenty to say. 😉

I get the treadmill benefits, but why does it always seem to take so much loooooonger than running outside?? Just me?

My husband is trying to get me into Happy Endings. It’s not too bad!

  5. Happy Endings is HILARIOUS!!

“OMG, when I get drunk, I eat ribs!”

I recently got hooked on Hot in Cleveland. I actually LOL though anything with Betty White has GOT to be funny.

  7. Love Tosh.0! He can be a little off side at times, but seriously funny! We just finished watching the first three seasons of Sons of Anarchy. It’s really good to!

I hope that Happy Endings comes back on! I noticed the one guy is in previews for another new show, so it made me doubt if it was returning.

You could definitely do those sprints faster! I was dying after 2 sets. I can’t imagine doing a 3rd! I really went with running as fast as I could for those distances. I figured with only running 3 times a week, I need to push it!

You SO need to watch Happy Endings. So glad it’s coming back!

  9. OMG I am obsessed with Tosh.0. If you haven’t, you should watch some of his earlier episodes. AMAZING. Call me crazy, but I really like The Voice. I am not into American Idol at all but I am really entertained by The Voice. Ooh and then there is The Killing!!! Hubs and I REALLY like that show! It is set in Seattle!

This is exactly what I needed. My tv schedule gets so boring in the Summer. True Blood will be back next week, and I’m knee deep in Game of Thrones, but other than that I’ll use any/all recommendations I can get…any others?

  11. I forgot to watch Workaholics last night, but I set the DVR before I went to bed to tape it at 4am. I’ll try to watch it tonight to see how it is. I’m not a fan of The Office but I like It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

And yes, you need to watch Happy Endings.

OMG. I am so behind on your blog, it is disgusting. My favorite TV shows lately are…catching up on all of the Real Housewives shows. All of my regular shows are not on during the summer. Boo.
