At least, that’s what I’m told this is called. I like to call it “Pink Slop.”
I decided to make this after I ate something like it at Sweet Tomatoes and really liked it. This is not from a recipe, I totally winged this one. I’m bringing it to Linda’s soup party tonight. I don’t know what a soup party is, but I assume some people will be there eating soup. I apologize to those people for bestowing the pink slop on them. But that’s the only thing I could think of that goes with soup.
For anyone who is reading that I may not know personally, I do not cook. I microwave. So you will not find a gourmet masterpiece here. And so I bring you…Pink Slop!
- 1 tub fat free Cool Whip
- 1/2 brick fat free cream cheese (softened)
- 2 apples, diced
- 1/4 package strawberry banana powdered Jello
- 1 can no sugar added fruit cocktail (drained)
- 1/2 package miniature marshmallows
Mix and enjoy!
Mix the Cool Whip and the cream cheese together.
I used a mixer because the cream cheese wasn’t softened enough.
Speaking of mixers, I’ve had this one for FIVE years and JUST noticed the “Eject” button on it.
Swirl finger in empty Cool Whip container.
Make sure you get enough.
Sample. You know, to make sure it’s safe.
Add powerdered Jello to taste.
Dice apples. I used this slicer to make it a little easier.
Then I went crazy train with my one dull steak knife.
Better sample that too.
Add apples and 1/2 package of miniature marshmallows to mixture. Fold into mixture with a spoon until coated in pink slop.
Fold in fruit cocktail until coated. Sure, you could use fresh fruit but why do that when you’ve got it all in one can?
Better taste that too.
It’s safe. Sorta.
Here’s what that beauty looks like. Yeah, I’ll be taking that in public. I know it looks like a flamingo threw up, but it tastes pretty good.
Class it up with a bow and wrapping paper. Cuz THAT will make it look better.
By the way, Hubs just tried it and said it was “dangerous cuz he could eat the whole thing.” Score one for the man team!
